Clarence , Jr. PAUL was born after 1920. He died in Jul 1983. According to grandaughter, Jody Paul, Clarence owned Kay-Dee Drive Inn in Deer Lake and his wife ran it for a few years after his death. It is now (1997) Pop's Drive Inn.

"Thomas William Paul was born September 7, 1872 in East Brunswick Township, where he received most of his education in the public schools, later attending the high school at Palo Alto one term.. He taught school for one term in West Brunswick township.. He grew up on the home farm, and continued to assist his father in its operation until twenty-two years of age. Then he married and entered the employ of Jonas Kunkel, as a farm laborer, remaining with him one year, after which he returned to the home farm, later buying the place from his father. The tract contains about one hundred acres, seventy-five acres of which are under cultivation, devoted to general farming. Mr. Paul attends market at Port Carbon and St. Clair, and being ambitious and diligent has taken his place among the most progressive agriculturists of the neighborhood. His neighbors have given practical evidence of the high opinion they have formed of his trustworthiness by electing him to the township school board, in which body he served for a period of sixteen years, until the new code went into effect. He supports the Republican party, and like a number of the family holds membership in the Church of God at Steigerwalt, of which he is elder at present. For sometime he was superintendent of the Sunday School."

In the 900 census, he has been married for 6 years, his birthdate is confirmed and he is listed as a laborer. Parents: William PAUL and Emma Elizabeth HARTUNG.

"William Paul, son of Daniel, was born March 20, 1839 in East Brunswick Township, and was educated in the schools of that township.. He assisted on the home farm until he was twenty-seven years old, when he married and bought the tract of thirteen acres now occupied by Thomas Hartung, remaining on that place for six years. Trading farms with the father of Thomas Hartung he removed to the tract now owned by his son, Thomas W. Paul, where he has resided ever since, being now practically retired. His life has been unassuming, but useful and commendable to such a degree that he has the unqualified esteem of his neighbors and other friends. He is a valued member of the Church of God at Steigerwalt and has served the congregation for years as a trustee. On political questions he is a Republican.
Mr Paul was married to Emma E. Hartung, born December 16, 1842, daughter of Thomas and Priscilla (Bensinger) Hartung, and they became the parents of three children; Kate Louise, born Feb. 12, 1866, is now keeping house for her father in a part of the dwelling on the farm which his son now owns; Thomas William ... ; Mary Matilda, born August 25,1877, is the wife of Harry Frantz. Mrs Paul died March 12, 1910, and is buried in the Steigerwalt cemetery."

In 1910 census listed with son Thomas W. Paul at age 71, widowed.

In 1900 census listed with wife Emma, born 12/42, daughter Kate L. born 2/66 and Tillie M. born 8/77.

Listed in 1880 census age 41 with wife 37, daughter Kate age 14, son Thomas age 7, and daughter Mary age 2.

In 1870 census age 30, a laborer with real extate valued at $800.00 with wife Emma, age 27 who is keeping house and daughter Catherine age 5.
