Our goal is to collect and provide as much census data as possible. If you have any records
you have transcribed, please submit them for inclusion here. Please keep in mind that these are
transcribed records which have been interpreted by the submitter. If you have ever looked at the
actual records, or microfilmed copies, you know how difficult it is to even see some of the ink, let
alone interpret the handwriting. If you see errors that you are certain of, please let us know. For example,
I once could not find a relative in the 1850 index book at our library that I knew should be there. On looking at
the microfilm, I found that the handwritten descender on the "Y" had been so faint the index transcriber thought it
was a "U" They had no possible way to know, but I knew the family and location so I spotted it.
In order to best use these files, try the "Find" command on your browser. Experiment with different spellings, taking
into consideration possible errors in transcription.
Once again, F. Richard Turnbach has us off to a fine start, his work has already brought a few unconnected
lines into the fold through his submissions to this website. Let's all chip in and add new records to this feature!
