From: WALLYSMI@aol.com Date: Fri, 3 Oct 1997 17:42:25 -0400 (EDT) Subject: Stoning Well I took my first walk in 2 cemeteries in Coplay, Pa today. The Colpay Cemetery and St John's Cemetery, One left, St Peter's...... No Luck finding any Bensingers but then I can't say that I looked at each and every head stone. There has got to be a better way to tell who is buried there. I am going to call the care takers to see if they have a list (DATABASE). One thing I found out is that you can't tell a year by the condition of the stone. It depends on the type of stone that was used. Some from the late 1800's to early 1900's you can't read while others look almost new, and some are , they have been replaced with new ones. Some are flat on the ground, some are above ground with the words facing the sky. If you should ever go "Stoning" take along a good pair of binoculars. This is a job for someone with alot of time on their hands. Wally Smith
